The Islander Newspaper, Ascension Island - Thursday 29th May 2003: "The second member of the team is Dr. Stephen Field, professor of geology of Tarleton State University (TSU) in Stephenville, Texas, who is a specialist in volcanic rocks, especially those from the earth's lower crust and mantle. Three students, Anna Burke and John Devine of UPS and Shane Finegan of TSU are participating in the field work. Another geologist, Dr. Lee Allison, of the Kansas Geological Survey, is assisting.
Allison was part of the geothermal drilling operation on the island during 1987-89 and at that time collected samples for paleomagnetic analysis that led to the current project. "
